This 2017 single malt bottling from the renowned Chichibu distillery was matured in barrels that came from several craft beer breweries in Japan that had held India Pale Ale (IPA). Interestingly, Chichibu's head, Ichiro Akuto,  also shared Chichibu's whisky casks back out to the brewers, enabling their beers to benefit in return from the whisky flavours.
 
For this bottle, the distinct combination of aromas and flavours from the beer and whisky has meant it is highly sought after in the after-sales market.
